Southern Grampians DRU Sergeant Sean Elliott said officers received information leading to the raid on the commercial cannabis crop.
An interstate man aged in his 50s has been arrested, charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis and been remanded in custody to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court today for a bail/remand hearing.
"We located hundreds of plants at a very well established, professional cultivation site. The site is capable of producing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cannabis each year," he said.
"They are seedlings as its only the start of the season. This time of year the seedlings are planted to be harvested at the end of summer. Investigations are ongoing and we expect to make further arrests," he said.
Sergeant Elliott said a Hamilton man was also arrested and charged with possessing a small amount of cannabis mid last week.
