Thieves smashed security lighting and broke into the shed, which houses about 20 buggies.
“It’s the third time in about two years that this has happened,” Sergeant Paul Stanhope said.
“We’re hoping someone in the community knows who’s responsible and can pass on some information.”
The break-in occurred on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
“We have spoken to someone who heard some activity about 2am Sunday morning, so we think that’s when it happened,” Sergeant Stanhope said.
The electric buggies were driven about a kilometre to Lake Hamilton where one was dumped on rocks close to the water off Rippon Road, while the other was dumped in Rippon Road.
“We found a bumper from one buggy at the other side of the lake, so we believe they were driven around the lake, a total distance of about five kilometres.”
The buggies both sustained significant damage.
“It would run into the thousands (of dollars),” Sergeant Stanhope said.
“Because of the earlier break-ins we believe these people have been there before,” he said.
Sergeant Stanhope said because of the repeated nature of the crime, someone would probably have helpful information.
“We would like to hear from anyone who can help.”
