A truck driver charged with the deaths of a husband, wife and two of their children did not appear to stop or slow down before the intersection where they crashed, a witness has told a Melbourne court.

The moments after the collision, when a small boy realised he had lost his family, were also detailed in witness statements tendered in court on Wednesday.
Jobandeep Singh Gill faces a number of charges including four counts of culpable driving after the delivery truck he was driving collided with a car at Catani, south-east of Melbourne.
Stephen and Jade Beckett, 36 and 33 respectively, and their children Ella, six, and William, two, were killed in the collision at the intersection of Caldermeade and Heads roads just before 9am in late February.
Their oldest son Sam, nine, survived. The couple had been taking their children to school.
At a committal hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday, truck driver Kenneth Mcleod said he was driving north along Heads Road when he saw a white truck approaching the intersection to his right.
In his statement to police, Mr Mcleod said he was not sure if the truck slowed down before the intersection, where he said there was a stop sign in place, but "it didn't look like it".
"The white truck didn't stop when it entered the intersection with Heads Road," he said.
When asked under cross examination by defence counsel Tony Trood whether the truck slowed down, he said, "I don't think it did, no."
Mr Mcleod said in his statement the top of the family's car had been ripped off.
He said a young boy was crying out from the back seat: "My Mum and Dad are dead, get me out of here, get me out."
The boy got part way out of the car and Mr Mcleod helped him the rest of the way,
Witness Sarah Corallo was driving to work when she arrived at the scene soon after the crash and stayed there until emergency services arrived.
Ms Corallo told the court Mr Gill said his gears had jammed and he had not been able to stop at the intersection.
In her statement to police, tendered to the court, she said Mr Gill appeared very upset and asked her if his head was bleeding and when the fire in the car got worse, she took the little boy away from the flames.
"The little boy said that his brother, sister and two parents were still in the car. It was very said," she said.
Another witness, a long-time resident of the area, said the rumble strips on Caldermeade Road had been worn down since they were first put in place approaching the intersection, about seven years ago.
The hearing will continue before magistrate Greg Robinson on Thursday.
