Moyne Shire Council engineering and design manager Leah Johnston said a stone wall along the river next to Griffiths Street had collapsed after the river bank was eroded during a storm in June.
Ms Johnston said the repair work had taken more than three weeks to complete and was funded with a $100,000 allocation from the federal government’s disaster recovery fund.
She said workers also did some maintenance work this week on the rock wall built on East Beach last year.
Ms Johnston said more rocks were added to the face of the barrier near the pedestrian path from the East Beach toilet block as a protective measure.
