Lisa Jane McLaughlin, 49, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning charged with murdering Graham Stevens, 31, in Seaford, in Melbourne's south-east, on Sunday.
Her lawyer told magistrate Andrew Capell her client had never been in custody before and requested Ms McLaughlin see a medical officer.
Ms McLaughlin was further remanded to appear for a committal mention on February 18.
Footage from security footage would be formatted and a DNA forensic report conducted, the court was told.
