A driver who ran a red traffic light and killed a passenger in another car in Docklands earlier this year had almost 50 grams of ice in his vehicle and later tested positive to the drug.

A Melbourne court heard on Monday that Aron Sandner tested positive to methylamphetamine and also to amphetamine after the smash at about 10.10am on February 1.
But Sandner, who was uninjured and not taken to hospital, refused to a take a blood test, as was his legal right.
Anyone injured after a car crash and hospitalised automatically has blood taken.
When he appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court, charges that included culpable driving causing death were withdrawn.
He then pleaded guilty to driving in a manner dangerous that caused death and to driving in a dangerous manner that caused serious injury and to a charge of possessing methylamphetamine.
Sandner, 30, will also plead guilty in the County Court later this year to charges of failing an oral fluid test and to using drugs of dependence.
The court heard that Cory Jach, 36, and his partner and passenger Tien Le, 34, had stopped at a red light to turn right at the intersection of Footscray Road and Waterfront Way.
In a summary of the evidence, Mr Jach started to turn right through the intersection when he heard Ms Le "gasp" and he saw Sandner's car's bull bar collide with the front passenger side of his car.
While other vehicles had stopped at the red light, Sander's failed to and entered the intersection.
Ms Le, an ANZ IT designer, died at the scene. Two passengers in Sandner's car fled the crash scene and have not been located, while he was arrested.
Police found 49.4 grams of a crystal substance later found to be methylamphetamine in the car and also a small set of electronic scales and a smoking pipe.
A test indicated there was no alcohol in his system, while later at a police station a preliminary oral fluid test indicated the presence of illicit drugs which were then analysed and indicated the presence of methylamphetamine and amphetamine.
A police reconstruction of the collision concluded that it was "likely" that at the time the lights applicable to Sandner had been red for about 6.7 seconds
When interviewed, he told police he could not recall where he was prior to the collision, the collision itself or how it occurred.
Sandner replied "no comment" to any questions over the positive indication to the oral fluid test and the drugs in his vehicle.
Magistrate Jonathon Klestadt ordered Sandner to appear in the County Court in November and extended his bail on conditions that included surrendering his passport and reporting to police.
