About 1300 students and 175 staff members dressed up for the annual Emmanuel Day celebrations.
The year 12s dressed up in togas and came adorned in bedsheets and linen, with wreaths on their heads.
Director of marketing Jean Christie said Emmanuel Day was a special day set aside each year to celebrate the school and honour its founders.
“It’s a celebration of our school,” she said.
“It started back at St Ann’s and we had St Ann’s Days for years. Each year we always have a theme. This year it is ‘today, not tomorrow’.”
The display of school pride was also a fund-raiser for the Sisters of Mercy and two schools in Kenya and Papua New Guinea.
“We have already donated $3000 to the school in Papua New Guinea to help them get connected to the internet,” Ms Christie said.
“There was fund-raising activities all day.”
Ms Christie said a big highlight of the day was the annual girls’ football match.
The college’s year 11 girls play the year 12 girls. “It’s a lot of fun,” she said.
“What the girls may lack in skills they make up for in enthusiasm. The year 12 girls always win no matter the score.”
The day finished with a talent show called Emmanuel’s Got Talent.
“I think it’s the most looked forward to day all year by students,” Ms Christie said.
