Blues president Mark LoGiudice revealed at the club's best-and-fairest count at Crown on Wednesday that his club would no longer have more home games at Etihad Stadium than at the home of football.

The new split will see five home matches at Etihad Stadium, having had at least six there under the controversial 10-year agreement struck in 2004.

The Blues had initially suggested they wanted to play up to eight home games at the MCG.

LoGiudice said the new agreement would help members, the club and the two stadia.

"We have listened to feedback from our members who have expressed a desire for another game at the traditional home of football and I'm delighted that we have been able to deliver on that, while maintaining a strong presence at Etihad Stadium," LoGiudice said.

"The new agreements with both stadiums will provide Carlton with a stronger financial return than under the previous deals. Most importantly, at the forefront of this negotiation has been our members' needs and the opportunity to deliver an improved match day experience for Carlton fans.

"The MCG resonates with our tribe as the traditional home of Australian rules football and to move another game there is a fantastic result but, equally, we are enthused by upgrades recently announced for Etihad Stadium. In particular, Etihad's new Wi-Fi technology will help us deliver exclusive content to Carlton fans attending games.

"I would like to thank the management of both the MCG and Etihad Stadium for their cooperation in reaching agreement, along with the AFL, which has endorsed the move."

The new agreement is an important move by the Blues as they seek to rebound from a difficult 2014 where they expect to post a loss of about $500,000. Debt, however, continues to fall, with this expected to be about $5.3 million at the end of the year.

The Blues were handed three of the six experimental Sunday night matches, including a season opener against Port Adelaide, but attendances were poor. They hope to return to starting the season against Richmond next year.

Under LoGiudice, the Blues are also keen to break through the 50,000 membership barrier, having again fallen short this year.
