The league has altered times for Saturday’s netball grand finals to allow for formal proceedings.
A spokesman for Dr Napthine said the time of the opening had yet to be locked in but it would be before the league’s president’s luncheon.
Grand finals will start at 9am with the 13 and under and 15 and under netball games being played simultaneously.
The under 18½ football grand final will kick off at 10am with the 17 and under netball showdown scheduled for 10.15am. The A2 netball grand final is listed to start at 11.30am, followed by the A1 at 12.30pm and A grade at 1.30pm.
League chief executive officer Mike Farrow is expecting a big crowd with nine out of 10 clubs represented on the day.
The league is hoping its run of fine weather continues after strong crowd numbers at the finals so far. Saturday’s preliminary final crowd gate was down about $2000 on the previous two years, which were records.
