WHEN Paul McNamara noticed a job vacancy for manager of Warrnambool’s surfside holiday parks, he leapt at the chance to work where his family had enjoyed years of summer holidays.

The 45-year-old is settling in to his new role, which entails helping thousands enjoy a home-away-from home by the sea.
“It’s a good time of life to be moving and I wanted to embrace the opportunity,” he said.
“Warrnambool has such great facilities on the foreshore — it’s unique.
“The loyal and long-term staff here are one of the main assets of the operation.
“I’ve been working in the construction industry as an administrator and estimator and will use those skills so the parks can continue to be financially accountable.”
He and his wife Jodie and their two teenage children know the district well, having lived in Port Fairy for the past eight years.
They’ll soon move into the manager’s residence at Surfside One foreshore park where their lives will be intertwined with customers, especially during the peak summer mayhem.
“I understand about 25 per cent of customers are from local areas,” he said.
“One of the beauties of this area is that people can have a holiday without leaving their own area.”
