Sergeant Martin Flannery said Portland police were called at 10.50pm last night to attend a Brady Street address after a vehicle's windows were found smashed.
The Gemini wagon had two side windows smashed and it appeared offenders entered the unregistered vehicle although nothing was stolen.
"It's an older vehicle, not registered and not being used. The value of the damage is about $300," he said.
"There was blood found at the scene so it would be a very good idea for the offender to hand himself in. If we don't catch up with who did it today we'll find them sooner or later."
Sergeant Flannery said anyone with information about the damage was requested to contact Portland police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
