The 21-year-old has recently completed his second professional photo shoot and has another planned early next year before sending his portfolio to modelling agencies.

The Camperdown-based gardener and former mechanic said having the Terang Fitness and Wellbeing Centre nearby had been a big help to his bodybuilding goals.

Mr Langley started going to the gym about three years ago to improve his fitness while studying mechanics.

“I started to see improvements happening and enjoyed going to the gym a lot more once I saw that. 

“Then it became a bit of a habit and obsession since then,” he said.

Since completing his race mechanics course and returning home to work, Mr Langley has continued to dedicate himself to achieving his dream of becoming a fitness and cover model.

“I don’t want to compete or do bodybuilding events, I just want to do magazine covers and fitness expos,” he said. 

Over the past three years Mr Langley has increased his weight from 56 to 66 kilograms but has significantly reduced his body fat.

“I was always a skinny kid muscle-wise but I also had fat around my abs. 

“It’s a long road and a lot of learning. 

“It took a couple of years to get my diet right and it’s still a learning curve,” he said.

Mr Langley presently travels to the Terang gym four days a week to train but in the eight weeks leading up to his latest photo shoot he was training and on a strict diet seven days a week.

He usually devises his own planned workloads but regularly refers to bodybuilding websites for ideas.

He said the Terang fitness centre was the perfect venue to help him achieve his goals.

“There isn’t something of this scale in Camperdown.

“It has a good weight selection, good equipment and it’s a friendly environment.

“I think if you’ve got a dream you should follow it and I hope I can inspire and help others to realise their dreams.”
