How much would you pay for a rotting weatherboard house? This dilapidated cottage in Richmond's Burnley Street is expected to top $2 million when it goes to auction next week.It sold two years ago for $1.6 million, but is back on the market with plans to salvage the original house built 135 years ago. Marketing agent Teska Carson's Gideon Marcus said a planning permit had been issued for four townhouses, including one that retained part of the original cottage. The house sits on a large 800 square metre block near Burnley railway station.
