Cape Bridgewater’s tired and tangled beachfront access will get a tidy-up under a new masterplan by Glenelg Shire.
The council is now seeking public submissions before it plans to spruce up the popular swimming and hiking spot.
Glenelg Shire mayor John Northcott said Bridgewater Bay was one of the most popular destinations in the shire, but more paths to the beach were needed to prevent erosion and improve pedestrian safety.
The foreshore also lacks a day centre for visitors and green space.
“The beach is a popular destination for a range of users who require access to the beach, however, there are limited formal paths and visitors tend to access the beach directly from the nearest point,” Cr Northcott said.
