The Allansford young gun polled an astounding 41 votes to claim the Ian Amoore Medal by 13 from Mortlake Junior Sharks’ Harrison Hobbs, 28.
The tally was the highest for a footballer in any grade in league history. No player has polled more than 40 before.
The previous mark was 39, set by Russells Creek’s Will Doran in the under 14½s in 2009.
Jyran, 14, earned votes in 15 of the 18 matches, including 11 best-on-ground performances during a dominant season.
The quietly-spoken forward, who was also the leading goalkicker with 77, joined the club from Merrivale last season where he won a premiership.
He has every chance to win another flag, with the unbeaten Cats finishing on top of the ladder.
Jyran, a Brauer College student, said he never expected to claim best-and-fairest honours.
His main goal this season was “just to get into finals and try to win the big one”.
“I didn’t know I was going to win it,” he said.
