Seven Grampians region personnel from the CFA, Department of Environment and Primary Industry and Parks Victoria plus two south-west region DEPI and one CFA representative will go to British Columbia for five weeks.
A total of 50 Victorians are in the contingent.
Premier and South West Coast MP Denis Napthine said Australian firefighters were internationally recognised and experienced in tackling some of the toughest blazes in the world.
“I pay tribute to those involved and wish them good luck in their deployment,” he said. Police and Emergency Services Minister Kim Wells said the call from Canada came during a challenging fire season.
