Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown, preparing for his second season in charge, will hold a free coaches’ seminar in Warrnambool, alongside NBL’s Chris Anstey.
Brown is a former Australian Boomers coach and long-time San Antonio Spurs assistant.
He joined the 76ers — a club in rebuilding mode — last season, guiding them to a 16-63 win/loss record. Anstey coaches the newly-branded Melbourne United in the NBL and played for NBA franchises Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls.
Basketball Victoria manager of basketball operations Grant Wallace told The Standard last month that Brown had links to the region.
“His wife’s family are at Port Fairy,” Wallace said.
“Normally when people like Brett come home they like to do something to help grow the game and he said ‘I want to do it for free, help grow the brand’.”
