A strong cold front is expected to pass over the district on Wednesday night, bringing damaging winds around 60 kilometres an hour with peak gusts of 110 kilometres an hour.
A Sheep Graziers warning has also been issued.
The front is likley to bring plenty of rain, with between 10 and 20 millimetres predicted to fall on Thursday. Temperatures are only expected to reach around 14 degrees.
Winds are expected to be strongest ahead of the front as it moves across the State.
On Friday, a burst of very cold air is forecast to bring scattered showers with the chance of hail and snow down to 500 meters.
The State Emergency Service says residents should move vehicles under cover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around their house, yard and balcony and keep clear of fallen power lines.
