Member for Wannon Dan Tehan said the project update followed the government’s pledge to give people with the worst online services access to broadband sooner.
“These three new sites are adding to the 27 under construction and four already operational in Wannon,” Mr Tehan said.
“The fixed wireless network will utilise advanced 4G technology to deliver speeds of up to 25 megabits per second, which will enable multiple high definition videos to be streamed at one time.
“Since the election, the fixed wireless network has more than doubled the number of premises it passes, with more than 89,000 homes and business in rural Australia passed by the network.
“I am proud that our government is prioritising areas with the worst broadband services under NBN Co’s new rollout strategy because many people in Wannon will finally get broadband speeds the same as those in the city.”
