WHO

Louise Olsen, the co-founder of Dinosaur Designs, lives in Bronte with her husband and collaborator Stephen Ormandy and their daughter, Cami.

WHERE

Da Orazio Pizzeria and Porchetta

WHY

“Steve and I took Camille here recently - it’s a really good family restaurant. It's a local, casual yet stylish dining spot serving woodfire pizza. I also love the white-wash interior; it feels like you're dining on an island in Greece or Italy. I love the way that you feel like you’re sitting in the kitchen. It almost feels like you’re in someone’s home.”

WHAT

“The octopus is my favourite dish - it brings to life the delicious flavours of the Mediterranean; lemon, olive oil and herbs. I love using good produce to make simple, healthy, classic dishes. Their buffalo mozzarella, tomato, basil, extra virgin olive oil, a bowl of olives and home-baked bread from the pizza oven with rosemary and salt is simple, beautiful and yummy. This is something I would make at home.”

ABOUT

"Life is a little manic at the moment. Stephen and I have been in New York launching Seed Pod, our new collection, and visiting some incredible design and art fairs such as Frieze, Collective, Pulse, Wanted and Site Unseen and Offsite.

"After then we were on our way to London to organise the set-up of our first European store. We can't wait! It's located in Soho on the corner of the new Ham Yard Firmdale hotel. I have also just finished a collection in my own name for Jac+ Jack.

"Stephen has an exhibition of his painting and sculpture in November at Olsen Irwin gallery in Woollahra. It’s been wonderful seeing his new sculptures coming through in marble and bronze.”
