Council engineers are evaluating the Pea Soup bill before lodging a claim to a special federal-state funding package announced this week.
So far the government fund managers have agreed to fund repairs to Martins Place, Southcombe Park footpath and the Moyne River levee between Griffiths Street bridge and the footbridge on the east side.
Shire mayor James Purcell predicted the application would be lodged next week.
“There’s a fair chunk of the dune gone,” he said.“It had only been replanted late last year and the marram grass was in a fairly advanced stage.”
