YEARS ago a young Taylor Henderson sat in the Fun4Kids Festival crowd, probably thinking about whether to go bowling next or play more video games.

Now the 21-year-old singer and former X Factor finalist has returned, this time as a performer on the main stage in front of countless screaming fans.
“It is weird. When I was younger I was probably in the crowd watching someone perform and now I’m up there,” he told The Standard after yesterday’s performance.
“I came once or maybe a few times when I was a kid.
“I was so little that, oh my gosh, this place was amazing. I remember there was a games room with PlayStation and computer games.
“And bowling. When I was younger I used to bowl all the time so when I came here it was lots of fun.”
Hundreds of screaming youngsters watched Henderson’s intimate acoustic performance, with many taking home iPhone-recorded mementoes to remember the highlight of their day at the festival.
“I don’t think I’m ever going to get used to the screaming,” Henderson said.
“It’s amazing that I do gigs and the fans are just crazy and really respectful.
“They go to a level and beyond to come out to a performance and I’m really grateful for that.”
The Fun4Kids Festival visit was the Geelong musician’s second performance in Warrnambool within 20 days, following his Telstra Thanks show at the Civic Green on June 10.
“The last crowd was really rowdy ... but this time it feels quite intimate.
“You feed off the crowd and they were sitting down for a bit so we wanted to work with them, and then they got up again.
“I’d love to come back. I hope they want me back.”
Henderson’s second studio album Burnt Letters will be released on July 11 and is now available on pre-order.
