Piper Roddy McDonald gets Camperdown's Robbie Burns Festival under way yesterday.

World-renowned bagpipe player Roddy McDonald found his tune in Camperdown’s Theatre Royal yesterday afternoon before the annual Robert Burns Festival kicked off last night.

A civic reception launched the third annual festival last night with revellers dancing the night away at the Deer Stalkers ball.

The festival, which celebrates all things Scottish, continues today and tomorrow with performances from pipers and other musicians, markets, children’s activities, whisky tastings, kilt dash, art exhibitions, lectures and presentations in various locations around the town.

A full program of events can be found on the festival’s website, www.camperdownburnsfestival.com
