Two teenagers will face court over the theft of alcohol from a Portland pub.

TWO young Portland men were arrested after the city’s Gordon Hotel was broken into early yesterday morning and $600 worth of packaged alcohol stolen.

Police were alerted by witnesses and pursued the getaway car around local streets before abandoning the chase.

Shortly afterwards police spotted the vehicle, minus the alcohol, and arrested an 18-year-old suspect nearby.

He was remanded to face Warrnambool Magistrates Court on two charges of burglary, two charges of theft and one count of committing an indictable offence while on bail.

Later a 19-year-old was arrested at a residential address and bailed to face a magistrates court in September on a charge of burglary and theft.

The alcohol was recovered from the same address.
