A WARRNAMBOOL man killed in an accident near Cudgee last Thursday night was 27-year-old Bryan Gillingham.
Senior Sergeant Shane Keogh, of Warrnambool police, said Mr Gillingham was a mature-age student at Deakin University’s Warrnambool campus.
Mr Gillingham was driving a white Nissan sedan west along the Princes Highway near Cudgee about 6.30pm last Thursday when he was involved in a collision with a bus heading east.
Warrnambool police highway patrol unit officers are in charge of the investigation.
Alcohol is suspected of being a factor in the accident.
“We are looking into factors which could have contributed to the accident, including speed, dangerous driving and alcohol,” Senior Sergeant Keogh said.
“We have reports from three eye witnesses. A report will be prepared for the coroner and investigating officers are awaiting a toxicology report.”
