St Joesph's Primary School pupils celebrate their win.

ST Joseph’s Primary School started its School Sport Victoria football and netball title defences in strong fashion.

Both teams advanced to the division section on July 23 in Warrnambool after finishing atop the round-robin district level competition yesterday.

The final two stages of the competition, which is for grades 5 and 6 pupils, are regional and state level.

Undefeated St Joseph’s (pictured)  and  Warrnambool Primary School met in the final round-robin game yesterday.

But St Joseph’s’ 7.3 (45) to 1.0 (6) win was enough to book its spot at division level. St Joseph’s netball side won its five games to reach the next stage.

Our Lady Help of Christians finished second.
