The 27-year-old was intercepted driving on Hamilton-Port Fairy Road near Macarthur, returning a positive breath test at 11am on Sunday.
Leading Senior Constable David Rook warned motorists to think twice before driving after a “big night out”.
“The subsequent breath test later at Warrnambool registered .06 almost 12 hours after his last drink,” he said.
“The message is ‘Don’t think you can have a big night on the grog and automatically be right to drive the next day’.
He didn’t realise he was speeding and he didn’t realise he was still over .05.”
