Well-known local Warrnambool businessman Stan Philp has died aged 82 and will be remembered as a respected leader across the sporting codes. 

Former councillor Jennifer Lowe appeared in court yesterday, with her defence counsel calling the case a "witch hunt.

A police raid on a farmhouse near Condah yesterday uncovered drugs and weapons charges, earning the property occupant a court appearance later this year.

A four-year-old boy was flown to hospital in a critical condition after a farming incident at Jancourt East yesterday. His brother now says doctors are confident his condition will improve.

A territorial surfer is believed to have vandalised an out-of-town car parked near a popular local surfing spot at Peterborough.
