AN ELDERLY driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a crash in East Warrnambool on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was driving his early model Toyota Camry on Verdon Street, near Tower Square, about 4.15pm, when his car hit a power pole. A fence was also damaged.
The collision brought down power lines and damaged the pole at the base. It remained standing but was at a noticeable lean.
Power was interrupted to 177 customers while crews work to repair the damage.
