Police said the couple’s Commodore station wagon veered on to the wrong side of the road and collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe wagon about 9pm. An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said paramedics received the call shortly after 9pm. A 69-year-old Cavendish man driving the Hyundai was not injured.
A 29-year-old man was treated for anxiety and fitted with a spinal column brace as a precaution before being taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital for observation, he said.
A 29-year-old woman suffered soreness from her seatbelt and some bruising. She was also taken to the Warrnambool Base Hospital for assessment.
The spokesman said the injuries did not appear serious.
“Both of the injured parties were out of the car and walking around when the paramedics arrived,” he said.
Both cars were towed from the scene and the road was closed for a short time until police could direct traffic.
Police will investigate the cause of the accident.
