Police said a 48-year-old Port Fairy man was at the wheel of the Hino tray truck, driving under instruction south on Morriss Road, when it paused to turn right on Raglan Parade at 11.45am.
While it was stationary and giving way to oncoming traffic, a 1991 red Ford Laser driven by a 68-year-old Warrnambool man collided with the driver’s side of the truck.
The car had to be towed away and the man was taken to hospital for observation.
The truck was able to be driven away.
