The Rangers recorded a comfortable 6-2 away win — their third of the season — consolidating finals hopes. Coach Nick van Rooy said Oscar Bishop, Tom Pyers and Isaac Slater were three teenage prospects who stepped up to play roles in the division one win.
“For the squad we had yesterday it was a good win,” he said.
“A lot of juniors stepped up. It was a close game through the middle and we had the ability to put it through. It was good to put it to the back of the net a few times.”
Martin van Rooy, who netted two goals, Dechlan Picken and Bishop were the Rangers’ best. Warrnambool hosts Vic Park this weekend.
The Rangers recorded a 3-1 win against it in round one. The Rangers’ division two side recorded a 4-2 win against Forest. Warrnambool’s women’s side slumped to its third loss, going down to Vic Park 2-1
. The Rangers’ under 17s recorded a 5-2 win against Forest and their under 15s suffered a 5-1 loss to Forest.
