Runaway car ploughs into shop front

POLICE say it’s a miracle no one was injured by a runaway car that slammed through a shop front in Hamilton on Saturday night.

A 2013 Mazda sedan, left without the parking brake on, rolled about 250 metres backwards through busy traffic along Thompson Street and over the Gray Street roundabout before smashing through the front window at Kerr and Co Real Estate.

Hamilton police Sergeant David Walkley said a 50-year-old Hamilton woman received an infringement notice.
