Coach Simon O'Keefe and his team - Darcy Lewis, Karl Dwyer, Craig Fraser and Michael Clements - have named a preliminary 62-player squad for the clash against Colac and District at Central Reserve, Colac on May 24.
The two sides met 12 months ago, with Colac and District winning a low-scoring tussle 9.8 (62) to 7.7 (49) at Reid Oval.
All 12 clubs are represented in the preliminary squad, which features some of the best players the league has to offer.
But there are also some major omissions. Deakin University coach Trent Anderson was also a key post last year but will miss with a broken foot.
Old Collegians' Scott Williams is nursing a fractured fibula, Merrivale's Todd McLean - the captain in 2013 - is yet to play due to a back injury while Aidan Cole will be unavailable.
Merrivale has the biggest representation with nine while Dennington and Panmure supply eight players each.
