During the ticket buying process this year, purchasers are asked which primary school their children attend within the Warrnambool City area.
The results will be tallied and 10 per cent of the total ticket sales for each nominated school will be donated back to the school.
The concept was launched yesterday at Warrnambool Primary School, where principal Peter Auchettl said it was a fantastic initiative.
“The schools in the Warrnambool network have always had a close association with the Fun4Kids Festival and this is a brilliant way to strengthen that relationship even further,” he said.
“I think it’s a fantastic concept and we can’t thank (festival director) Luke (Cann) and the festival team enough.”
Mr Cann said the fund-raiser had a really positive response from the schools.
“All schools within the Warrnambool City Council area have been overwhelmingly positive about the initiative,” he said.
“School’s work so hard to fund-raise each year and this is a great way for families to be part of that much-needed support and enjoy the festival experience.”
Tickets for the festival are on sale now.
