A WARRNAMBOOL man was remanded in custody overnight after he allegedly broke into his former partner’s home armed with a knife and assaulted another man.

Police were called to a Wanstead Street address about 5am yesterday.
Sergeant Cameron Ross said when officers arrived they were told a 27-year-old man had forced his way into the premises and assaulted the two occupants of the home.
A man visiting the woman who lives in the house is believed to have suffered minor injuries, including grazes.
He was treated by ambulance officers at the scene but was not taken to hospital.
Police arrested the alleged intruder who was held at the Warrnambool police station, interviewed by Warrnambool crime investigation unit detectives and charged. He fronted a bail justice and was remanded in custody overnight.
The man is expected to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court today for a bail/remand hearing.
