A WARRNAMBOOL man will be interviewed by police this morning after he allegedly broke into his former partner's home armed with a knife and assaulted another man.

Police were called to a Wanstead Street address about 5am.
Sergeant Cameron Ross said when officers arrived, they were told a 27-year-old man had forced his way into the premises and assaulted the two occupants of the home.
A man visiting the woman who lives in the house is believed to have suffered minor injuries, including grazes.
He was treated by ambulance officers at the scene but was not taken to hospital.
Police arrested the alleged intruder and he is being held at the Warrnambool police station pending an interview with Warrnambool crime investigation unit detectives.
