The inaugural Easter Book Fair will be held in Warrnambool’s Glasshouse Plaza off Koroit Street and Ozone car park on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.
Proceeds from the gold coin entry donation and book sales will be used to support crisis programs which respond to more than 13,000 callers annually.
Lifeline South West chief executive Meredith Ericson said the organisation was 90 per cent self-funded, with the balance from a government grant.
“We are urging the community to support us so we may support others,” she said.
“More people in the greater south-west die from suicide than from road traumas, but big business and governments shy away from funding media campaigns about suicide.
“For every suicide at least six to 10 other people will be affected by intense grief which can lead to further risk of suicide.”
Lifeline’s help service is available on 13 11 14.
