Tributes for road victim

TRIBUTES have flooded in on social media for a Warrnambool man who died in a traffic accident at Little River on Friday.

Police investigators believe Daniel Wicks was driving towards Melbourne on the Princes Freeway when he lost control of his car and crashed into a group of trees in the centre median strip about 12.15am.

It’s believed he then got out of the car and stepped on to the freeway where he was hit by an oncoming truck.

Mr Wicks, aged in his 20s, died at the scene.

The Standard understands he was a landscape gardener who had gained employment in the metropolitan area.

Facebook users said Mr Wicks was a funny, genuine and caring person who always put a smile on people’s faces.
