The two sides maintained their unbeaten records with victories in their round two matches at Warrnambool Golf Club yesterday.
Port Fairy defeated Cobden 4-1 to stay clear on top of the ladder. The side has dropped just one of its 10 contests this season.
The biggest wins came courtesy of Anne Dwyer, 5/4 against Carol Bennett, and Sue Holcombe, 5/4 against Fay Rundle.
Diana Robinson edged out Jo Hammond one-up while teen Joanna Flaherty upstaged the more experienced Debbie Rix 3/2. The victors’ only defeat came with Louise Cameron losing to Sherine Healey 2/1, but they had secured the points by then.
Warrnambool also has an unblemished record and is hot on the heels of Port Fairy after two rounds, trailing by a solitary contest.
Warrnambool completed a whitewash in its match against Terang, 5-0, with all contests decided before the 18th hole.
Glenda Clarke was the star, defeating Marion Venn 7/6 and Sue Wilton took the win against Aileen Clarke 6/5.
Di Howland beat Margie Driscoll 5/4, Tricia Sullivan did likewise against Leeanne Ritchie 5/4 and Alison Sinclair shaded Judy Carmody 2/1.
