The strong crowd at the primary school throughout the day exceeded organisers’ expectations, fair co-ordinator Virginia Rea said.

“It’s very well-supported by the school but a lot of the Warrnambool community people were here as well,” Ms Rea said.

“We couldn’t have asked for any more perfect weather.

“We’re very lucky we have a lot of parents that volunteer and a committee that puts in a lot of effort so we can produce this.”

Families had no shortage of entertainment options, with live music, dancing, mini golf, go-karts, rock climbing, laser tag and carnival rides to choose from.

Ms Rea said Warrnambool Seahawks player Liam Killey drew a big queue at the dunking machine, as pupils lined up to show him a type of dunk he’s less familiar with.

Buying wristbands to allow multiple rides was a popular choice.

“We’ve got more than 11 rides on the wrist bands, including the new three-lane slippery dipper,” Ms Rea said.

“The new slide was very well worth it because it helped work the numbers of children through all the rides. By having an extra ride on the wristband, one that puts people through quickly, it means there’s a spread of the kids across the rides so they’re not waiting as long.”
