With hot competition from around the state, a host of Warrnambool members emerged successful. They put their home-track experience to good use with the club’s team of riders all making finals.
Warrnambool’s Jephcott family had a day to remember with Karla winning the women’s 30 years and over cruiser class while her daughter Johanna won the 11-12 years girls’ cruiser class.
Husband and father Tim was second in the men’s 30-plus cruiser class and third in the 20-inch bike section. He was one of two local riders to feature in the top 50 fastest times for the day.
Amber Dowd won the girls’ 10-year-old section, James McKinnon took out the nine-year-old boys’ class while Nikita McKinnon was second in the 13-year-old girls. Warrnambool hard-charger Blair Hewett was third in the 12-13 boys’ cruiser class. Bec Toulin was third behind Jephcott in the women’s 30-plus cruiser class.
Ararat rider Josh Cain, who is a member of the Warrnambool club, was 13th fastest over the day, with an impressive lap time of 41.396 seconds.
