Hawkesdale Rural Supplies business has ceased trading, with owners citing a lack of local support as the reason behind the closure.
A sign on the front door of the shop says it will close on March 28, but The Standard believes it has been shut for at least two weeks.
The business is owned by the Sobey family, which also has rural supplies stores in Hamilton, Mortlake and Macarthur.
Andrew Sobey confirmed the store had closed, saying it was no longer viable. “It didn’t have the support from farmers in the area required to keep it open,” Mr Sobey said.
