Warrnambool seniors enjoy district motor ramble

IT  was a case of  vintage wheels for vintage people when the Warrnambool and District Historical Vehicle Club took Mercy Place nursing home residents for a tour last week.

Some of the vehicles are 85 years old and still going strong, just like some of their passengers.

Eight cars including a six-door Rambler limousine ferried 17 elderly residents around rural district roads for an enjoyable outing in autumn sunshine.

“It is part of  our  community work,” club member Ian Rees told The Standard.

“We also include visits to  Gillin Park and Lyndoch.

“Residents enjoy the outings and appreciate the drives.”
