The Koroit and District Kindergarten committee will host the event at the Illowa Hall on Thursday, March 27.
Melbourne entertainers Bushwahzee will run the dance in the evening at Illowa after hosting workshops and concerts in Koroit during the day.
Kindergarten children will join pupils from the Koroit District and St Patrick’s Koroit primary schools to take part in the activities.
Kinder committee member Tammy Langdon said it would be an exciting new venture for the community.
“We wanted to put on something that could provide great entertainment for the young families in the community,” Mrs Langdon said.
“So we went looking for funding and we were lucky enough to get that funding through the Moyne Shire Council’s Community Assistance Fund. It will be just a gold coin donation for the community bush dance which will help cover the rest of the costs of the whole thing.
“Everyone supported us so much in the push for the building of the new kindergarten and this is a way of saying thanks.”
Workshops during the day in the Victoria Park stadium will cover Aussie bush history and dancing lessons.
They will include some learning about Australian bush history and also some bush dancing which the children will then be encouraged to do at the bush dance that evening.
