THERE was mayhem in the Port Fairy CBD this afternoon after two people were injured in a five-vehicle accident.

Just before 3.30pm an elderly Port Fairy women backed her 1999 Mazda sedan out of a park in Sackville Street and collided with a passing semi-trailer.
The driver of the car then attempted to reverse back into a park and in the process slammed into a late model Mercedes, causing extensive damage to that parked car.
The Mazda driver then pulled out of the park and drove south down Sackville Street and ploughed into the back of a ute.
She then pulled past the ute and continued on to the Sackville and Cox streets roundabout where she collided with a Toyota sedan.
The Mazda driver was treated by ambulance officers and taken to South West Healthcare for observation.
SES members used the jaws of life to remove the Toyota driver from her vehicle due to extensive damage to the driver's side of the car.
The driver was conscious throughout and when removed was also taken to South West Healthcare for observation.
The accident was attended by two police, three SES, two abmulunace and three CFA vehicles.
