PREMIERSHIP player Nick Chirnside is back training with Warrnambool after flirting with a move to Warrnambool and District league premier Panmure.

The 24-year-old, who was announced as a Panmure assistant coach in November, has opted to return to Warrnambool, even though he had not signed a clearance with the Bulldogs.
Chirnside, who played six games with Northern Territory Football League club Waratah recently, said playing at the higher level had stoked his enthusiasm to stick with Hampden league premier Warrnambool.
Chirnside missed most of the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Blues after suffering a serious knee injury that required reconstructive surgery. He had previously played in the Blues’ 2010 flag.
While in Darwin, he trained heavily as well as playing in matches.
“This is the first time I’ve been injury-free in about four years,” he said.
He said he wanted to have another crack at senior major league footy while he could.
He will be part of the Blues’ squad that will play in Saturday’s Hampden league pre-season cup competition at Port Fairy.
The Blues face Koroit and Terang Mortlake in two 20-minute-half matches.
