Five scholarships are on offer worth $1300 and includes text books, parking fees, Deakin University Student Association membership and a voucher for sporting equipment.
Deakin Sharks treasurer and former student Chris McGrath said the club hoped to attract new members for the year.
“In the long term, we hope this might be a point of difference if a prospective student is making a decision on whether to come to Warrnambool or not,” Mr McGrath said.
Applications for the 2014 scholarships close on March 2 and the recipients will be announced a week later.
The Deakin University Student Association also has a scholarship program to support students.
