Port Fairy Police Sergeant Mick Wolfe said a boat flipped near the Port Fairy golf course about 1.30pm on Saturday.
He said the three occupants were thrown into the water after their boat got too close to the surf and overturned about 150 metres offshore.
“A jet skier witnessed the incident and has gone to their aid,” he said. “He ferried them to the beach.
“The three men were shaken and shocked. Police, ambulance, State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers and the Port Fairy Marine Rescue Service all attended.”
Sergeant Wolfe said ambulance officers checked out the men to confirm they were OK.
“The boat was also recovered during the afternoon. It washed up on the beach, was righted by the SES volunteers, put on its trailer and handed back to its owner,” he said.
