Mortlake police catch two 140km/h drivers

MORTLAKE district police are warning drivers to slow down after two motorists were detected travelling at more than 140km/h.

Constable Paul Fiddaman said Senior Constable Rachel Wass caught both drivers on the outskirts of Caramut during the past couple of weeks — one driving at 141km/h and the other at 148.

Both automatically lost their licences for three months.

A collision with livestock or wildlife at those speeds could be fatal, Constable Fiddaman said.
